Frank M. Burdick

Frank Merle Burdick, 81, of Loveland, CO., joined his sweetheart, Joanne, on January 18, 2013, in Loveland, CO. He was born at home on April 2, 1931, in Alfred, NY. He was the 1st of 4 children born to Elbert B. Burdick and Frances L. Kemp Burdick. He married Leah Joanne Nye on May 5, 1951 in Alfred, NY. Before moving to Loveland, CO in 1980, Frank worked as a dairy farmer, Superintendent for Southern Tier block plant, and a truck driver. After moving to CO, Frank began working for Valley Block, Reeb Trucking and most recently, Burgener Trucking in Ft. Collins. He enjoyed being outdoors, and treasured spending time with his family. He was a man who knew no strangers, only friends he had not met yet. Frank is survived by 4 children, Frank D. Burdick and wife Joyce, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren of Cameron, NY., David W. Burdick and wife, Mary, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren of Medina, NY., Lori A. Kickery and husband Michael, and 3 grandchildren of Colorado Springs, CO., and Paul S. Burdick and wife, Lori, and 4 grandchildren of Loveland, CO. He is also survived by brothers, Raymond Burdick of NC, Bob Burdick and wife, Phyllis, of WV, and sister, Jeanette Retorick and husband, Bill of WV, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved pug and close companion of strength, Mitzi. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Joanne in 2008, his parents, one infant son, Scott, and several beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and in-laws. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
